Cryptic: 1 million characters created in Champions Online (Champions Online)

Online game maker Cryptic Studios said its most recent MMORPG, the Atari-published Champions Online, has garnered over 1 million created superhero characters, but the size of the subscriber base is unclear.

Cryptic is the studio that created the MMORPGs City of Heroes and City of Villains, NCsoft-published superhero properties that are still in development by other studios. Atari acquired Cryptic earlier this year as part of the publisher’s stronger focus on online gaming.

Left 4 Dead 2 strongly censored in Australia (Left 4 Dead 2)

The Australian version of Left 4 Dead 2 has been very strongly censored. No gore, limited splatter effects, no decapitation and zombies bodies vanish very quickly after being killed. Uncommon infected also do not spawn in the Australian version of Left 4 Dead 2, anybody joining Australian servers will not see any Uncommon Infected (eg Riot Police) during the game. The changes make the game much tamer than the original Left 4 Dead released last year.

Strategy Informer:

"Obviously blowing the surprise of possible avatar award goodies wasn’t enough, as now determined data mining survivalists have uncovered what appear to be error messages.

ZOMG! Get ready for the Golden Joysticks later TODAY! (Modern Warfare 2)

It’s that time of year again. A time when journalists and developers dust the cobwebs off their suits, drink free vodka until they upchuck on said suits and then pass out. It all means your …
