Yesterday a trading statement alerted eagle eyed gamers to the fact that Funcom was laying off some development staff, which led to some worry as to whether the company and its highly-anticipated MMO were in trouble. GamerZines spoke to Funcom to see if they could find out some more details.

To celebrate the release of Issue 16: Power Spectrum to NCsoft’s MMORPG City of Heroes, the publisher has announced a weekend event where it will be reactivating all accounts and all heroes and villains will be netting themselves double experience, with influence/infamy doubled as well.

"Alright, let me attempt to clarify as much as possible as its clear that there is some misunderstanding on how matchmaking works in Modern Warfare 2 for international users.

The functionality you’re asking for, the ability to connect to BEST connection rather than first available game aka quickest match, is already built into the matchmaking.

There is no need to include an additional toggle where you manually have to ask it to put you in the game best suited for your connection, that should all be done automatically without requiring you, the player, to go through an extra step to request it."

Coming your way in just about a week (October will be The Item Shop, where Dungeon Fighters will be able to purchase a great many things. Chief among these things are potions that will boost health and stats, safe upgrades with increased storage capacity and no weight limit. Players will also finally be able to replenish their stock of life tokens (think extra men) that bring your Dungeon Fighter back to life should he or she fall in battle.

Those of you who have played Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II - The Sith Lords know that the game was shipped before it was complete. There’s a lot of unused content on the disc that’s just begging to be incorporated into the game. One group of fans has done just that.

Some users have reported that they are unable to connect at all, while others say that they have made it as far as the end user agreement, but have never made it into the game. Those who have made it into games are reporting frequent disconnects.
