"It brings me great pleasure to inform you that yesterday marked the anniversary of a very special day in Patapon history…P-DAY.
It was a year ago (plus one day) that millions of spear-wielding, music-loving, monster-fighting, stew-making, desert-crossing, drum-beating Eyeballs invaded homes across America with their hypnotic mind-altering songs. It was on that day that the skies darkened with spears and arrows; it was this day that Zigoton blood saturated the earth. Many Patapon’s fell during the great battle for Earthend… and those who survived… well you know how the story ends.
So to honor this great and momentous holiday, this Day of days, we here at SCEA feel that its only fair to officially announce that the tribal drums of war have started to beat once again… the dark hour of dance-battle is upon us…
Patapon 2 is in the horizon! Oh-Yeah!"

The Dutch PlayStation website PSFocus.nl was recently in discussion with the retailer Futurezone about pre-ordering Killzone 2. Futurezone claimed that it was totaly useless to pre-order Killzone 2.
Pre-orders are to make sure that you get a copy of the game on the day of the release. This was in the case of Killzone 2 unnecessary. Futurezone sells loads of copies of this game everyday but the shelves in the store are still completely full.
The discussion about the usefulness of pre-ordering is in full bloom on the site, but what do you guys think about this statement?

Seb Downie, the Producer over at Guerilla Games made an official update on some of Killzone 2’s issues.
He talks about the removal of bots from online multiplayer rooms, statistics, the official site and issues in general.

PS3Hype writes:’Today the dutch gaming charts has been published. And it’s no surprise, but Killzone 2 is on the top off the list. It tops Wii Fit and Mario Kart in the overall charts.’

When covering MMO’s, the media tends to focus on the huge successes (World of Warcraft) or the notorious failures (Tabula Rasa). Between these two extremes, though, are many MMO’s that are going strong despite journalists’ neglect. One of them is Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach, which is celebrating its third birthday.

CVG reports: "PC Gamer UK has published an exciting, gushing review of The Creative Assembly’s latest RTS, Empire: Total War. According to PCG the new instalment is "astonishing. A strategy masterwork." Well worth the 94% and rare ‘Must Buy’ badge they’ve dished out, then.
"This is the grandest, most spectacular work of strategy gaming on the PC," the mag gushes. "If you’ve not tackled a Total War game before, or assume that they’re not for you, I challenge you to play Empire and not be impressed, or even fundamentally changed by the experience."

There’s a nice variety of games to select from in the week ahead. Halo Wars will be the biggest release this week and will open the RTS (real time strategy) genre to more players. With the Halo crossover, probably more gamers will experience a home console RTS game than ever before on the Xbox 360. Baseball fans have MLB ‘09 on the PS3 and PSP as well as Major League Baseball 2K9 for just about every platform. Tom Clancy’s HAWX brings some nice air combat gameplay. Make sure to try the downloadable demo if you haven’t yet. The demo is available from Xbox LIVE and the PlayStation Network. Phantasy Star Portable (PSP) debuts on the PlayStation Portable. There’s a demo for that too, but Phantasy Star fans will probably be eager to pick up SEGA’s RPG anyway. For the Wii, Sonic returns in another one of his storybook games, Sonic and the Black Knight.
